Racing Home for Easter Festival 2010 – present

PR & Event Management

SmackPR has been involved since the beginning of Mallow’s Racing Home for Easter Festival.

From devising and implementing the festival’s PR strategy  to liasing with local and national journalists, the coverage and publicity received in the lead up to the 3 day event helped to raise awareness of and promote the festival.

Articles were secured in the Irish Examiner, Irish Star, Irish Field and the Racing Post and locally, the Evening Echo, the Corkman, the Avondhu, Vale and Mallow Star, Cork Independent and The Cork News newspapers.

To ensure constant coverage for the festival, a number of different angles were devised to ensure a fresh reason for the papers and radio stations to write articles about the festival.

Radio interviews with the festival chairperson were also carried out on TodayFM, regional station 4FM and on C103.

In many instances, Sara’s own press releases were printed exactly as she wrote them without any editing, providing maximum results for the client.

Sara is also heavily involved in the graphic design of the festival’s marketing billboards and brochures.

Client Testimonial:

“Establishing a festival means you need to get mass media coverage to firmly establish it in people’s minds. SmackPR came on board and by using imaginative concepts and clearly outlining newsworthy angles, the Racing Home for Easter Festival received widespread press and radio coverage both pre and post event.

Having worked in the media, Sara McMahon knows what catches journalists’ eyes and our festival definitely benefits from that insider knowledge. SmackPR has already been retained for the festival’s next campaign.”
